2007-08 Quilt Challenge: Recycled Materials

Use it Up, Wear it Out. Make it Do! was a popular slogan during World War II. The next line of this saying could be “Or make a Quilt!” This old poster from the World War II era (artist unknown) illustrates the ingenuity of our mother’s and grandmothers in dealing with the challenges they faced during the war.

Quilters always seem to rise to the challenges that face them . One of the challenges that face us today is: “How can we do our part to preserving our planet and follow our passion for creativity at the same time? So, this quilt challenge tests our ability to do just that.

Quilts will be due by the April 11, 2008 membership meeting. Judging will done by ballot of the members at the May, 2008 membership meeting.

The Challenge Rules and an entry form are attached. Questions? Contact President Nancy Derickson at 314-909-9079 or nancyderickson@sbcglobal.net.
