SHOPPING ONLINE
e-stores - exist only on the internet, or only on the internet for
most of us. Here are some of our favorites:
Fabric.Com http://www.fabric.com
This is a great site for low cost cottons and fashion fabrics. The availability
differs from week to weeks, so it is a good idea to check back on a regular
basis.Kaufman cottons are often found here as well as others.Prices start
at $2.95 a yard. Also have velvets, decorator cloths, satins, lace, Malden
Mills Fleece. You can get on their email updates when new fabrics come in.Very
good return policy.
The Best Kept Secret http://www.thebestkeptsecret.com
Located in a small Wyoming town of 100 people, this is Suzanne's favorite. There
is a grocery store upfront, and the fabric store in back and Julie, the
owner even does long arm quilting, too. You will be amazed at the selection
of fabrics and at the reasonable prices! Hoffman's at $6.75, Kona Bay,
King's Road, Fossil Fern, batiks, and so many more it is hard to name!
Shhhh, I don't want to tell too many people about this great find though,
as I don't want to overwork Julie! She'll even match fabrics for you if
you'll ask and send swatches.
Big Horn Quilts http://www.bighornquilts.com
This store advertises, "Your Source for Top Quality Fabrics at Absolutely
the Lowest Prices anywhere." Great prices on Hoffmans' and other designer
fabrics. Great service!
Log Cabin Dry Goods http://www.logcabindrygoods.com
Has patterns for slippers and the little grippers for the slippers,
as well as cute caps, boxers, and bags.
fabricdotcomdotcom http://www.fabricdotcom.com
Equilter.com http://www.equilter.com
This site has over 8500 fabrics in stock at one time! It is incredible!
If you are looking for something, they have a great search engine too!
Hancocks of Paducah http://www.hancocks-paducah.com
LOCAL QUILT SHOPS and CATALOG VENDORS
Thimble
and Thread Web Site
Don't forget our local shops are online too! You can access them easily
through our Thimble and Thread Website above, through "Quilting Links"
then "Local Shops."
Take a Virtual Shop Hop http://www.fabshop.comHard
to Find ItemsEver go back to the store and find that the fabric you need
more of is all gone? Wondered if there was a way to find an out of print
fabric? Here are a few ways to help you out.
http://www.quiltshops.com
This tool lets you shop 91 shops or 70,000 items at once. For example,
if you are looking for a certain butterfly fabric, you type in butterfly
in the search engine and all the stores with butterfly in the title of
the fabric will come up. You may want to try variations of a word too like
butterflies as well. You can also comparison price shop this way.
For a lost fabric, go to: http://www.missingfabrics.com
If you have a scan of the fabric you need you can upload it to the
site, if not, you can send it through the regular mail and for $1 they
will scan it and put it on the site and put it with your request for how
much yardage you need for your project. At the same site they post what
people are looking for.The price is decided between the two individuals.
